Today's Devotional
Brought to you by Dream Team member Bobbi Heffel
“If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 NIV1984
Lord, it is easy to love the loveable but not everyone is loveable. In fact we are all unlovable at times. Help us to practice love the way you have taught us, putting one another above ourselves. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. (1 Corinthians 13:4)Love doesn’t come in chocolates, flowers, cards or even diamonds. It is far more precious that these things! Help us to be loveable and to truly, deeply love in for your name sake. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34)May we be known by Your love that flows through us. Amen
