Today's Devotional

Good morning Lord. Thank you that in an imperfect world with bumps, bruises and hurts that you give us a peace that passes all understanding.

Philippians 4:4-8
New International Version 1984 (NIV1984)

4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! 5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

It amazes me how much our attitudes can take the same circumstances and turn from what seems impossible to having great hope. How? Trusting the Lord and living out the above verses. Sound too simple to be true? Please, don’t take my word for it, try it out yourself. If you are like me you have already applied these verses and found them to have a profound effect in your life. Yet, we sometimes find ourselves blown off course and need a refresher in letting go and letting God.

Prayer
Thank you Father that there is nothing to big or too small for you to take care of. I lay this burden at your feet and I know that even though it is a heavy burden for me that for You it is easy and that you will work it out for my good in accordance with your timing. And that person that is driving me up the wall, You love them. They drive me so crazy I have a hard time seeing anything good in them right now but, simply knowing you love them is a place to start. Help me to find what is excellent and praiseworthy in all situations. Thank you for your abundant grace, mercy and love. In the blessed name of Jesus we pray. Amen
