Mary is an award-winning journalist, now semi-retired, with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a second bachelor’s in journalism.
I met Diane through team member Trisha Barton, a sister in Christ with whom I connected online. A missionary at heart, having served six years in “Youth With a Mission” as well as sharing my faith in my daily walk, I was drawn to Diane’s outreach. In May 2011, Diane put me to work using the skills and talents I have developed throughout my career, much spent covering religion. I, too, suffer from debilitating health issues, including fibromyalgia, neuropathy and diabetes, and am a cancer survivor.
After almost three decades in newspapers, I now assist clients with their communication needs (writing, editing, graphic design, public relations and more) through my home-based business, The Write Stop. I continue to write articles for newspapers and magazines, and am working on several books. I also volunteer at my church and am a wish-maker for the “Make-A-Wish Foundation.” I am Mom to a grown son and daughter-in-law and daughter, Grandma to three granddaughters, “best buddy” to two Dachshund-Dalmatian-mix doggies, and live in Salem, Oregon.
